Mess with a Purpose
Last week we enjoyed Christmas shopping with our students. This is a fun event for them as they get to see the gymnasium packed with many possible gifts for them to purchase!
Some of you may see piles of boxes, wrapping paper, tape, tissue paper, and gift bags in various parts of our school each time we hold this event for our students and parents. In fact, many of you are the ones who bless us with these items in order to make this event possible! I consider this an organized mess in anticipation for the main event.
Isn't this true of how our Savior came to this earth as well. I remember, as a child, thinking that the Christmas story was filled with wonder, awe, and beauty -- and it was. The older I get, the more I understand that the Christmas story was messy. Being born in a manger among animals and in earthly poverty was likely the reality of the situation. Yet, that tiny baby brought hope to the world.
In the mess and chaos of Christmas, remember the first coming of our Savior as well as the anticipation of His second coming!
