Financial/Office Secretary Position

Description

The Financial/Office Secretary is responsible for properly administering all financial matters necessary for the effective functioning of the school.  The Financial Secretary reports to the Head Administrator and regularly attends monthly Finance Committee Meetings.  The candidate would work with our current Financial/Office Secretary for one year, 2021-2022.  There will be significant office work as well, not necessarily with financial responsibilities.  This is a shared position with another part-time office person that would have no financial responsibilities.  The Financial/Office Secretary will begin on September 1, 2021.  It is likely that this position would be for Monday/Tuesday/Thursday each week depending on the schedule of the other office secretary and approximately 3 days total during Christmas and possibly Spring Break.  Summer hours for this position will be as follows:  Full time in June for 3 weeks after the completion of the school year, then 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Monday and Thursday from July until the beginning of school in August.

Job Requirements

Candidates must have at least a 2-year degree with bookkeeping/accounting classes or equivalent experience and math skills.  Candidates must also have excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.  Knowledge of QuickBooks is helpful.  Candidates should have working knowledge of spreadsheets, which will include working to prepare each year’s budget with assistance from the Head Administrator.

Qualified candidates will have experience or training in business processes and operations, proficiency in financial software applications, budget management and strong communication skills.  All faculty and staff of MCS must demonstrate their Christian faith and show commitment to a biblical, Christian worldview.  Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work cooperatively, a desire for excellence, and a commitment to personal and professional growth.
